Meet Emelie!

Hi there :)
My name is Emelie Latzer, and I'm a recent graduate of NYU (B.M. in Vocal Performance/Musical Theatre). I currently live in Queens, New York. I am an actor, singer, and ~strong~ mover.

I was born in NYC, and I am a proud descendant of Ukrainian Jewish and European immigrants. I moved to Hong Kong when I was just 5 years old and attended Hong Kong International School, where I learned Mandarin and performed in my first musical in the 6th grade, "Seussical!" (a classic).

I moved back to NYC in 8th grade and continued performing in community theatre and at school. I was a Vocal Major at NYC’s LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts (the"Fame" School!).

After graduating from NYU, I played "Glinda" in The Wizard of Oz at the Summer Theatre of New Canaan, then immediately began rehearsals for the National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof. I performed in the ensemble and covered seven roles. The first time I swung on was for the role of Hodel during our opening week in Detroit—with no rehearsals! I also had the incredible opportunity to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid in the Disney On Classic international tour in Japan. Most recently, I got the chance to play one of my dream roles, Dawn in Waitress at Theatre by the Sea in Rhode Island!

When I'm not performing, I am also a private acting, vocal, and audition coach for young performers. Some of my clients include the principal child actor for the national tour of A Bronx Tale. For the past five summers, I have worked as a senior counselor/assistant director at the Musical Theatre Camp at Queens College CUNY where I was an acting and vocal teacher for children 6 through 16.

I have two very cute cats named Lolly and Mitzi, who I walk on a leash (I'm not kidding, they love it). I love exploring NYC, eating at good restaurants, and knowing too much celebrity gossip.
